Hope you are settling in. Have you added a new pet to all the other stress/newness in your life? A dangerous week for others in your former profession: bears and helicopter crashes, oh my! indeed.
(bet your parents are happy you don't do that anymore...) Can't wait to hear more about life as you find it.

I'll like to see the next photo.. who will win? the animal instinct or the universal love? I don't know, but if I was the cat I'll probably start running!!
cat - "hey, man! who the hell is this big dude?"
otis - "mmmm this cat is way too calm!! or he is a karate instructor or he is a nut case!"
cat - "Oh my!! no way to escape neither!!"
otis - "what if he is an undercover CIA agent?"
cat - "better not mess around with him!"
otis - "better not mess around with him!"

good luck to everybody!

i'd bet on universal love :) maybe the next picture is of sitting on the couch together sharing books or drinking tea.... now, that would be a fun thing to see.

In the next shot actually, the cat, (named Elvis, belongs to Mike), bloodies Otis with two quick right hooks. Otis then retreats to the corner with a look that says: all I wanted was to love you. Elvis says: this is love. Really, asks Otis? Yes, says Elvis, be foolishly in love, because love is all there is. Huh says Otis.

When he comes closer, Elvis slashes him again.

Meanwhile there are fireworks in Beijing and the Russians invade. The moon opens her face and sorrowfully spreads her wings.

At least animals don't kill each other if there isn't a reason of survival.. and it isn't their choice, but it is their instinct..
I live in a G8 country in Europe, and yes,it is ridiculous that while in one TV channel they're showing the happiness(?) of the Olimpic games, in the other they're showing, as usual, scenes from battlefields, in this case from Georgia..
for us it is very easy to forget about it, we just need to flick the channel while sitting comfortably in our couch..
and what about those who are dying for starvation, for AIDS, for infections caused by contaminated water in Africa just to pick some?
nobody really talks about them!

One World one dream!
good luck to everybody!

Otis you're such a good one.. I'm with you..

I loved your presentation at Pathways today...wanted to stick around to ask more about your work at Walter Reed but the lines were long. I realized being from DC I can hunt you down anytime, so I took my daughter to the beach instead!! Anyway, would love to hear more about Walter Reed and your work there.
